The 2022 Translator Award of the City of Vienna was presented to Lotte Hammond on February 15th, 2024 at the Literaturhaus Wien. A graduate and former colleague of the ‘Nederlandistik’ at the University of Vienna, Lotte also studied at the University of Groningen (NL) and SUNY Cortland in New York, USA. She received the city’s Translator Award for an excerpt on the topic of ‘Travel Literature’ from her German translation of the book Jaguarman by Raoul de Jong. Jaguarmann has since been published and is available from edition amikejo. In addition to Dutch, Lotte also translates texts of various genres from English and Spanish.
The award ceremony and reading was streamed live and recorded by the Literaturhaus Wien.
